You can already guess my surprise when I learned then that Hello Neighbor 2 was initially marketed with: “the Neighbor is controlled by an AI that learns from the players! As time passes, his behaviour will change and surprise you” which changed to “controlled by advanced AI’s!” With that information in mind, let’s take a look at what Eerie Guest and Tiny made of Hello Neighbor 2.
One of the things that didn’t make it into the final release was the neighbour learning from your break-in attempts. Hello Neighbor came out with middling review scores at best. I didn’t get very far, as the puzzles were quite convoluted and frustrating to figure out at the time, so I left it and didn’t come back. Eager to try for myself I acquired the game and dug in for an afternoon of fun in what was alpha 2 at the time. It’s a game where you sneak into your neighbour’s whacky house to uncover the secret he hides in his basement. He immediately dives into the latest theory they have cooking over at theorist HQ about this popular up-and-coming indie game called Hello Neighbor. Hello Neighbor 2 is available for Windows 10. Even with a powerful computer, the game is likely to run with a few minor issues. If you change any layout within the house, the neighbor will notice and act on it, unlike in the previous title. The AI used for the antagonist is extremely well-designed and will begin to learn how it should counter your actions as you play. The world comprises a cartoonish style that adds to the odd design of the mysterious figure guarding his secrets. The world comprises many bright colors that contrast the gameplay and genre, masking the title's horror side until it's too late, and you already entered the enemy's territory. The neighbor's routine now includes self-care such as bathing and sleeping. The new title allows you to secretly peek through keyholes by holding the E key.
Hello Neighbor 2 is a sequel to the popular Hello Neighbor, taking place in the same universe as the first game and its many spin-offs. Hello Neighbor 2 is an engaging horror game for you to add to your collection.
